Do not run installers from mirrors, video descriptions, or direct messages. The homepage purchase control will say when sales are paused.
What the updater verifies
- Release metadata is fetched from files.ionize.cc
- The manifest signature is checked with Ed25519
- The downloaded file's SHA-256 must match the hash in that manifest
- Only then does Ionize apply the update and ask to restart
The in-app flow is: current → update available → downloading → verifying → restart to apply. A walkthrough lives in Updates.
How to check the version you are running
The site status bar and the Latest Release section read the same public channel as the app. Compare that version to the number shown inside Ionize. If they disagree and you did not install a beta, treat the local copy as unverified and replace it from an official origin.
