Ionize
The product item by item, what it runs on, and the editor workspace in each appearance.
What Ionize gives you
A Windows scripting environment for Luau: editor, tabs, themes, script folders, a signed updater, and a documented API surface.
A tabbed editor with syntax coloring, dirty and pinned tabs, Execute / Save / Open / Clear, and a status line for line, column, encoding, and language.
Keep several scripts open, switch with the tab strip, and use the side rail for explorer, folders, console, and settings without leaving the session.
Dark, Dracula, Catppuccin, Midnight, Nord, Tokyo, and GitHub. Each theme restyles the editor, chrome, and syntax together.
scripts/, autoexec/, and bin/ live next to the executable when that folder is writable, otherwise under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Ionize. Auto-execute entries run on attach.
Ionize verifies Ed25519 update metadata, then checks the SHA-256 of the downloaded package before it is applied.
Covers the full sUNC compatibility table, with every function in the tested standard set implemented or offered as an alias. Ships for Windows 10 and Windows 11 on x64.
The runtime does no background disk writing while you work. Diagnostics are off by default and opt in, keeping the editor responsive during heavy runs.
System requirements
Ionize is a 64-bit Windows application. The minimum OS comes from the published release manifest; WebView2 is the only extra runtime.
