Installation
Ionize is a 64-bit Windows application. It runs on Windows 10 version 2004 and later, including Windows 11. The Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is required.
Requirements
- Windows 10 version 2004 (build 10.0.19041) or Windows 11
- x64 only
- Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime — Included with Windows 11 and Windows 10 21H2 or later. Install it from Microsoft if Windows reports it missing.
Steps
- Download. Take the package only from ionize.cc, Discord, or files.ionize.cc. Third-party mirrors are not official.
- Install. Extract the portable zip, or run the installer when one is published. Keep Ionize.exe with its resources folder.
- Open. Launch Ionize.exe. WebView2 is required. Windows 11 already has it; older Windows 10 may need the Microsoft runtime.
- Configure. Pick a theme, confirm the workspace path shown in Explorer, and complete license activation when sales are open.
- Run. Write or open a Luau script, attach when the target is ready, then execute. Auto-execute scripts run from the autoexec folder.
Workspace folders
After launch, Ionize creates scripts/, autoexec/, and bin/ next to the executable when that directory is writable. Installed copies under Program Files use %LOCALAPPDATA%\Ionize. The Explorer panel prints the resolved path.
If it does not open
Confirm the OS and architecture, install WebView2, and check whether antivirus quarantined Ionize.exe. Then see Troubleshooting.
